Washington: Russia’s Defense Ministry is preparing to buy rockets and artillery shells from North Korea for the ongoing war in Ukraine. This has come to the fore in a US intelligence report. A US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said on Monday that Russia’s move to isolated North Korea reflects that the Russian military is facing a shortage of arms supplies to Ukraine due to various restrictions and sanctions on exports. Still working.

US intelligence officials believe that Russia may also buy additional military equipment from North Korea in the future. The New York Times first published a news based on this intelligence report. The US official did not give any information regarding how many weapons Russia wants to buy from North Korea. The news comes at a time when US President Joe Biden’s administration confirmed in August that the Russian military had received drones from Iran for use in Ukraine.

North Korea has sought to strengthen ties with Russia and blames the US for the Ukraine crisis. He defended Russia’s military action in Ukraine, saying that Russia’s action against the hegemony policy of the West was done for self-defense. North Korea has also shown interest in sending workers to help rebuild Russian-held areas east of Ukraine. On February 26 this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared the two regions of Ukraine, Donetsk and Luhansk, as independent.

North Korea’s ambassador to Russia recently met envoys from two Russian-backed separatist regions in Ukraine’s Donbass region and assured cooperation with regard to sending workers. North Korea was the only country, apart from Russia and Syria, to recognize the independence of Donetsk and Luhansk in July and support Russia over the war in Ukraine. Let us tell you that on 24 February this year Russia invaded Ukraine. It has been more than 6 months since the ongoing war between the two countries and there does not seem to be any agreement between the two countries about when it will end.
