Uber has announced a new way to book cabs through WhatsApp.
Initially this service will be available in Delhi NCR region only.
This service of Uber will be in both English and Hindi languages.
New Delhi. Uber is also coming to WhatsApp, the most used messaging platform in India. This cab aggregator has announced a new way to book cabs through WhatsApp. Uber’s new cab-booking service will start rolling out early this week.
Initially this service will be available in Delhi NCR region only. Then it will be extended to other areas as well. This facility was first tested in December 2021 in the Lucknow region. This new feature will allow users to bypass the Uber app entirely, if they so desire.

Service in both English and Hindi language
Through this new service, the company gives the option of booking an Uber ride to the people of Delhi NCR through its official chatbot on WhatsApp. From user registration, booking of rides and receiving travel receipts, everything will be managed within the WhatsApp chat interface. This service of Uber will be in both English and Hindi languages.

– First of all send ‘Hi’ on Whatsapp to +91 7292000002.
You will then be asked to provide the pickup and drop off location.
– Users will then get fare information and driver’s arrival time.
All features of Uber
Uber claims that riders will get access to the same safety features and insurance protection as those who book trips directly through the Uber app. On booking, they will be given the driver’s name and driver’s license plate information. They will also be able to track the location of the driver on the way to the pickup point. Also, the driver will be able to make those calls which the number will not be visible to the driver.

The WhatsApp chat will also inform the rider about the safety guidelines. It will also explain how to reach Uber in an emergency (type help on-trip). If the user selects the “Emergency” option while on the go, they will receive an inbound call from Uber’s customer support team. Up to 30 minutes after the end of the trip, Uber riders will have access to a security line number to call if needed.
The service is available to both new and existing users who have registered with Uber with a phone number. Uber claims that its upcoming new version will also allow existing users of the Uber app to book trips through WhatsApp.
