Home Minister of Karnataka gave information
Said- investigation of Shivamoga incident continues
Terrorist organization related to one accused

Shivamogga. One of the four youths arrested in connection with the stabbing of a person in Shivamogga, Karnataka, belongs to a Pakistan-based terrorist organization. This claim was made by Karnataka Home Minister Arga Gyanendra on Saturday. Gyanendra was referring to Hindutva ideologue VD Savarkar’s violent incident in Shivamogga over posters being put up in a public place, in which Prem Singh, a 20-year-old employee of a textile store, was allegedly stabbed by four men. Four people Nadeem, Rehman, Ahmed and Mohammad Zabiullah were arrested in this connection.

Gyanendra told reporters, ‘If we look at the background of Zabiullah, then its case is very scary. We are getting information that he has links with various terrorist groups. We are getting evidence also. Soon this case will be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Police sources said that when the police checked Zabiullah’s phone, it was found that he has links with Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed. He said that the arrested person has already been booked under the stringent Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).

Was actively in touch with terrorist groups

However, it is not known how long Zabiullah was actively in contact with terror groups. Sources said some more details may emerge as the investigation progresses. Right-wing organizations had put up posters of Savarkar and Deendayal Upadhyay in the city’s Amir Ahmed circle on August 15. Opposing this, some Muslim youths demanded that they should be allowed to put up a poster of the 18th century Mysore ruler Tipu Sultan at the same place. Due to this, there was a fight between two groups and Prem Singh, who was present at his shop, was stabbed.
