Said- The whole world appreciated India’s stand
The example given in the cases of Ukraine and China

Ahmedabad. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar (EAM S Jaishankar) said on Saturday that in violation of India’s independent stance and agreements on the Ukraine war, China has “deployed troops” along the border (Line of Actual Control). The whole world has appreciated (India’s) firm stand. Delivering a lecture on ‘Indian Foreign Policy: Transforming Decade’ at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, he said that by taking an independent stand on Ukraine war, India has expressed the sentiments of many countries.

He said that in such circumstances, there is a lot of pressure on countries to choose one side. He said, ‘That we have taken an independent stand, that we have taken decisions that we think are right from the point of view of the welfare of our people, this has been appreciated by the whole world.’ Jaishankar said, ‘Two years ago, in the middle of the epidemic, China, in violation of the agreement, deployed troops near our border. We stick to our stand and for two years we have been working on it, not taking any leniency and I think the world has appreciated it (our stand). He said the global community saw that India could be “strong at the grassroots level and assertive in putting forth its interests”.
