Jammu and Kashmir. Work on the much awaited Skywalk project has been started by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. A 200 meter long skywalk is being constructed at a cost of about 10 crores. On Sunday, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Arun Mehta visited the work site. Shrine Board CEO Ashul Garg was also present with him. Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta reviewed the status of various ongoing projects of the Board for the advancement of facilities for the pilgrims. Chief Secretary Dr. Mehta took stock of the roadside facilities provided by the Shrine Board and various mega projects of the Board.

During this, Anshul Garg informed the Chief Secretary that after the recent introduction of Radio Frequency Identity Card (RFID) to track the movement of pilgrims, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) has worked on the much needed Skywalk concept. started. With emphasis on safety and convenience, the building will provide separate passages for incoming and outgoing pilgrims. The skywalk, which will cost more than Rs 9.89 crore, will have a length of about 200 meters and a width of 2.5 meters.

In addition, the skywalk will have seating for senior citizens and two waiting rooms equipped with washroom facilities are also being constructed to ensure seating for about 150 devotees, the work of which is expected to be completed by November. Giving information about the present status of Durga Bhavan, the CEO said that this high utility pilgrimage-centric facility is likely to be commissioned soon.

The five-storey Durga Bhawan will have all necessary facilities apart from adequate provision for harnessing clean energy, recycling of waste water and provision of lifts, etc., connecting to existing STPs. CEO Anshul Garg informed that the Shrine Board is working hard to expedite all the development works to further enhance the facilities for the visiting pilgrims. After inspecting the ongoing works, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta visited Maa Vaishno Devi.
