Tirumala, A car with a sticker of Jesus Christ found in Tirumala on Wednesday sparked controversy. When the matter was reported to the higher authorities of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), the vigilance and security personnel swung into action and removed the sticker from the car. According to a report in Times of India, when the sticker of Jesus in the car did not come in the sight of the vigilance and security staff, the people present there informed the officials. The sticker was removed from the car as soon as the information was received.
Let us tell you that as per the provisions of Andhra Pradesh Charitable and Hindu Religious Endowment Act, display of idols and stickers belonging to religions other than Hinduism is strictly prohibited in Tirumala. Earlier, some devotees from Maharashtra had complained that TTD’s security staff had stopped them from entering a vehicle with stickers of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Then this issue was in controversy.
However, later the Tirumala Devasthanam Board officials allowed it to go as a matter of communication gap.
