New Delhi. Recently, scientists have done a miracle in the world of science. Scientists doing research say that they have discovered a new way to generate hydrogen gas from water at room temperature, which could be a big step towards a clean and renewable energy source. Hydrogen has been researched for years as a type of fuel or energy source. Hydrogen is the simplest and most abundant element in the universe. Only one proton and one electron make up this atom. A report in Newsweek said that scientists at the University of California have discovered a new method of making hydrogen gas from water at room temperature.

Works by combining hydrogen and oxygen atoms in a process that produces water, electricity and a small amount of heat. By the end of October 2021, hydrogen fuel cell power generators produced approximately 260 MW of electricity capacity across the United States. By comparison, the average wind turbine generated around 2.75 MW in 2020. While hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe, we still need to use it as a fuel. The problem is, according to the US Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, the process involving natural gas produces about 95 percent hydrogen, and the process is not renewable. But today it is not so.

Scientists have been studying the reactivity of aluminum for years to develop efficient and economical ways to produce clean hydrogen fuel. Hydrogen is available in abundance in the world but it needs to be used as fuel. But the problem is that about 95 percent hydrogen is produced from the process involving natural gas and this process is not renewable. However, there may be a solution to this particular problem. Researchers at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) have found a way to produce hydrogen by developing a special type of aluminum composite that reacts with water at room temperature.
