Mumbai: Varsha Raut, wife of jailed Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, came out of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office on Saturday night after recording her statement for over nine hours in connection with the alleged Patra Chawl redevelopment scam.
He told reporters while leaving the ED office, “I have answered all the questions asked by the ED officials.” Varsha Raut said that the ED officials have not called her again yet. She said that she will not leave Shiv Sena and will continue to support Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.
She appeared before the central agency on Saturday morning in connection with a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in the redevelopment of Patra Chawl in suburban Goregaon. The money laundering case pertains to alleged irregularities in the redevelopment of a ‘chawl’ and related transactions.
The central agency had earlier this week sent summons to Varsha Raut. After this, she reached the ED’s office at Ballard Estate in South Mumbai on Saturday morning at 10.40 am.
The ED had arrested Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut in this case on August 1. A local court on Thursday sent him to custody till August 8.
