Kolkata. The West Bengal Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Sunday recovered cash worth Rs 1.4 crore from a fish vendor’s house in Malda district of the state. Police gave this information. A police official said that investigation is on to find out the source of the money and how he deposited the property. Acting on a tip-off, the CID raided the residence of fish seller Jaiprakash Saha and recovered cash from there, the official said.

He said the total amount was Rs 1,39,03,000. The official said investigation is underway to see whether Saha is involved in drug smuggling as the area is close to the India-Bangladesh international border.
