Aurangabad. Anil Agraharkar, a well-known builder of the city, committed suicide by hanging himself from the fan on Thursday. Anil Agraharkar, 55, a resident of Mitra Vihar Colony, was the treasurer of the Aurangabad chapter of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI). He was working on some of the biggest projects in the city. Jawahar Nagar Police Inspector Santosh Patil said that Agraharkar had gone to the gym built on the third floor of his bungalow as usual. After some time a member of the family also went to the gym, where he saw Agraharkar swinging from the fan and told the family. Then the other member and the maid together brought him down and took him to the hospital. Here the doctors declared him brought dead.

Patil said the family members have found a diary, in which the builder has left a suicide note. According to this, he was under tension for a long time regarding the transaction of money. Agraharkar’s brother told the police that he would register a case of abetment to suicide after performing the last rites of the builder. Agraharkar is survived by his wife and two children.
