Australia’s team was reduced to 141 against Zimbabwe
David Warner scored 94 runs
Ryan Burle creates history for Zimbabwe
New Delhi. Before the T20 World Cup, Zimbabwe’s team has given a big blow to the world champion team Australia for the last time. Zimbabwe bundled out the star-studded Australian team for 141 runs in 31 overs in the third and final ODI. For Australia, only David Warner and Glenn Maxwell could cross the double figure. Team’s opener Warner played an innings of 94 runs in 96 balls with the help of 14 fours and two sixes. At the same time, Maxwell scored 19 runs in 22 balls with the help of three fours. All-rounder Ryan Burle bowled charismatically for Zimbabwe. Burle took Australia’s last 5 wickets in just 18 balls.
Batsmen like Warner, Aaron Finch, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis and Ashton Agar, who were included in Australia’s T20 World Cup squad, were playing against Zimbabwe. Apart from Warner and Maxwell, the rest of the batsmen failed. Captain Finch 5, Steve Smith 1, Stoinis 3 and Agar was dismissed without opening the account.
Ryan Burle created history for Zimbabwe
At one time Australia’s team was looking in a good position for 126 runs for the loss of five wickets in 26.3 overs. There was a partnership of 57 runs in 52 balls between Warner and Maxwell. Zimbabwe captain Regis Chakabwa expressed confidence in Ryan Burle. Burle took five wickets for 10 runs in the first three overs. Australia’s last 5 wickets fell within just 32 balls. Burle dismissed Maxwell, Agar (0), Warner, Mitchell Starc (2) and Josh Hazlewood (0). Ryan Burle is the first Zimbabwean bowler to take 5 wickets against Australia in ODI cricket.
Apart from Ryan Burle, Bradley Evans took two wickets while Sean Williams, Richard Ngara and Victor Nyuchi took one wicket each. This is Australia’s lowest score in ODI cricket against Zimbabwe.
Captain Aaron Finch raises Australia’s concern
Australia captain Finch is not in form at all. In the last two matches of the ODI series against Sri Lanka, he could not open the account. After this, he has been able to score only 21 runs in the three-match series against Zimbabwe. This time the T20 World Cup is to be held in Australia itself. In such a situation, Finch’s poor form can spoil the game of the defending champion.
Australia made a mistake in choosing the World Cup team!
Australia has not selected star bowler Josh Hazlewood in the T20 World Cup squad. Kane Richardson has been given a chance in his place. However, Hazlewood is in very good form. He has so far taken three wickets in the last ODI against Zimbabwe. With this, his 100 wickets in ODI cricket were also completed. Hazlewood is playing his 64th ODI match.
