Shaheen is troubled by knee injury, PCB sent to London for treatment

New Delhi. Pakistan’s star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi is battling a knee injury. Now his injury will be treated in London. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) hopes that Shaheen can be fit before the T20 World Cup to be hosted by Australia. Shaheen has left for London for treatment and rehabilitation.

22 years old Shaheen Shah Afridi Due to injury, he could not even be part of the Asia Cup-2022. Although he definitely came to UAE with the team but had to go to London for treatment. He is expected to be fit before the T20 World Cup starting in October. Shaheen suffered an injury while fielding in the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle in July.

Shaheen also missed the second Test against Sri Lanka and the ODI series in the Netherlands due to injury. After this he also had to be out of the Asia Cup, about which captain Babar Azam had also expressed his disappointment. According to a report, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Medical Officer Dr. Najibullah Soomro said that Shaheen needs special care due to knee injury.

He said, ‘London has some of the best sports medicine and rehabilitation facilities in the world. Due to this it has been decided to send Shaheen to London. Our medical team will keep an eye on him in London. We are confident that Shaheen will be fully fit before the T20 World Cup to be held in October this year.

Shaheen has played 25 Tests, 32 ODIs and 40 T20 Internationals so far. He has taken 99 wickets in Tests, 62 in ODIs and 47 in T20 International formats. His economy rate is 3.04 in Tests and 5.51 in ODIs.
