New Delhi. Former South African all-rounder player Lance Klusener is celebrating his 51st birthday today. Klusener was born on this day i.e. on 4 September 1971 in the city of Durban, South Africa. He played his first ODI match for the African team against England on 19 January 1996 in London. In this match, he came out to bat at number seven. However, despite facing three balls, he returned to the pavilion without opening the account. In this match, he was made his victim by Darren Gough. At the same time, he did not get any success even during bowling.

Klusener played a total of 220 international matches for the African team after this match. This included 49 Tests and 171 ODIs. He batted at every order from number one to number 10 for the African team. However, his best game emerged as a ‘finisher’ in the lower order. He gave his team the best performance in many matches and won the lost bet.

The former African captain believed that Klusener was a very promising cricketer, but he was not a team man.

Let us tell you that Lance Klusener played a total of 49 Test matches for the African team. During this, his bat scored 1906 runs in 69 innings at an average of 32.9. Klusener has four centuries and eight fifties to his name in Test cricket. Apart from this, in bowling, he achieved 80 successes in 84 innings at an average of 37.9. In Test cricket, he took four wickets twice and five wickets once.

Talking about his ODI cricket, he played 171 ODI matches for the African team. During this, his bat scored 3576 runs in 137 innings at an average of 41.1. In ODIs, he has two centuries and 19 fifties to his name. While bowling, he achieved 192 successes in 164 innings at an average of 29.9. In ODIs, he took four and six five-wicket hauls once.
