Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. Due to being an 8-over match, the Indian team landed with only 4 bowlers. Jasprit Bumrah was included in the team in place of Umesh Yadav while Rishabh Pant came in place of Bhuveshwar Kumar. Hardik Pandya bowled the first over for India. In his over, Australian captain Aaron Finch scored a total of 10 runs with the help of two fours.
