Bangalore. Bengal fast bowler Mukesh Kumar took 3 wickets while bowling at a superb line-length on the opening day of the first unofficial Test against New Zealand-A. When the game was stopped due to bad light, India A took 5 wickets for 156 runs in 61 overs of the visiting team (IND A vs NZ A 1st Unofficial Test). For the first time representing any team of India (India Under-19, India Under-23, India-A and senior team), the right-arm medium pacer took one wicket each in all his three spells. He took 3 wickets for 34 runs in 13 overs with the help of 4 maidens.

Two left-arm fast bowlers included in the Indian team, Yash Dayal (13-2-35-1) and Arjan Nagwaswala (13-2-34-1) also got one wicket each. Whereas the left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who represented the national team, did not get any success. Third-order batsman Joe Carter batted brilliantly for New Zealand-A. He is standing at the crease after scoring 73 runs in 170 balls.

2 good partnerships
During this, Carter shared 49-49 runs for the fourth and fifth wickets with captain Robert O’Donnell (24) and wicketkeeper Cam Plechter. Rachin Ravindra could not perform much and was dismissed after scoring 12 runs off 35 balls. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav has given 44 runs in 19 overs so far and he has not got a single breakthrough so far. On the second day of the 4-day match, he would like to do wonders with the old ball.
