Anwar scored an unbeaten 188 off 258 balls with the help of 23 fours and a six in Pakistan’s second innings. Pakistan won this test by 46 runs. Anwar was out on zero in the first innings.
194 off 146 balls, Chennai (Pepsi Independence Cup): Anwar played one of the best innings of his ODI career against India during the Pepsi Independence Cup tournament on 21 May 1997. He washed the Indian bowlers fiercely at the park in Chennai and scored 194 runs in 146 balls. Let us tell you that this was the highest ODI score at that time. On the basis of his century, Pakistan won this match by 35 runs.

140 off 132 balls, Dhaka (Silver Jubilee Independence Cup): In another India vs Pakistan match in Dhaka in 1998, fans witnessed another masterclass by Anwar. Batting first, Pakistan had scored 314 runs for the loss of five wickets, thanks to Anwar’s quick batting. He scored 140 runs in just 132 balls in the match. However, his effort was foiled as Sourav Ganguly scored 124 runs for India and the Indian team won by 3 wickets.
101 off 126 balls, Centurion (ICC World Cup): Anwar scored 101 runs in 126 balls in the Indo-Pak match of the ICC World Cup 2003. Batting first, Pakistan’s team managed to score 273 runs. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar played a brilliant innings of 98 runs for the Indian team and Team India won the match by 6 wickets.
