New Delhi. Disney Star on Tuesday signed a licensing agreement with Zee Network giving it the rights to broadcast all men’s and under-19 competitions of the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the 2024-2027 cycle. The digital rights to the ICC tournaments were retained by Disney Star.

The current rights holders of the ICC made a winning bid of around $3 billion to acquire the rights to the Indian market last week. The agreement will give Zee the rights to broadcast ICC men’s events, including the 2024 and 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cups, the 2025 Champions Trophy and the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Both the media companies will share the financial burden under this agreement. Disney Star emerged victorious in the bidding process last week, overcoming tough competition from Viacom 18, Sony Sports and Zee.
