New Delhi. Mastercard will be the title sponsor of all international matches and domestic competitions of the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) in the country. Mastercard will replace mobile payment app company Paytm. Paytm had a detailed discussion with the BCCI office-bearers on the transfer of sponsorship rights, after which the change in sponsor was considered final. According to the BCCI, MasterCard all international matches (both women’s and men’s) held at home ground, domestic cricket matches such as the Irani Trophy, Duleep Trophy and Ranji Trophy organized by the BCCI, as well as all junior cricket (under- and under-) cricket matches held in India. 19 and Under-23) will be the title sponsor of the matches.
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said, “Besides the international home series, BCCI’s domestic tournaments are important as they are a step towards making India a strong international team.” Secretary Jay Shah said, “We are in an exciting phase in Indian cricket as we have to host Australia and South Africa for limited overs series before the T20 World Cup followed by the series against Sri Lanka, New Zealand and next year. To begin with, there will be the coveted Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

He said that with the return of the Duleep Trophy in domestic cricket and a full-fledged Ranji Trophy season, the calendar is packed. The 2022-23 season will see a lot of competition across age groups and I am sure it will be a prosperous partnership. It is known that due to Corona, there has been a lot of impact on the domestic calendar in the last 2 years. Next year, the ODI World Cup is also to be played in India itself.
