But, in the first match of the ODI series against New Zealand, he broke the back of the Kiwi team with his bowling and fielding. In this match, Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first. Due to Maxwell’s bowling and excellent fielding, Australia stopped the Kiwi team from scoring big scores. The entire team of New Zealand could only score 232 runs in 50 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Maxwell took 4 wickets for 52 runs in 10 overs. But, he caught Guptill’s catch with the left hand. Seeing this catch, it seemed that taking such aerial catches for Maxwell is a left-handed game. Maxwell bowled amazingly along with catching this air catch in the match. Even though New Zealand lost the first wicket on the score of 10 runs. But, after this the pair of captain Kane Williamson and Conway added 81 runs in 109 balls for the second wicket. When it looked like this partnership would last longer, Adam Zampa broke the pair by dismissing Conway in the 23rd over. Conway missed his half-century by 4 runs.
