Earlier, the Indian team had defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets. Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli scored half-centuries against Hong Kong. India had scored 192 runs while playing first. In response, Hong Kong had scored 152 runs showing a strong struggle. The Hong Kong team will take on Pakistan in their last match on 2 September. It will make it to the match-winning Super-4.

During this, all the Indian players gave him a warm welcome. Captain Rohit Sharma not only signed his jersey but also gave it to Hong Kong captain Nizakat Khan. At the same time, Suryakumar Yadav also handed over his signed bat. Kohli was seen signing the Hong Kong jersey. The entire Indian team signed the jersey.
